Zhik US F18 Nats 2014 @Corpus Christi, Day 2: Southern Knowledge

All images by Jasper van Staveren - Full gallery at CSN FB. Excellent conditions at Corpus Christi, Texas. The Argentine crews report 14-15 knots, perfect course racing area. Both Arg crews were performing today with a bullet and four 2nd places among their results within the 4 races held today.
US Champs, Easton & Burd racing the Falcon continue to show they are favorites scoring today 1,3,4 & 3.

John Casey & Colin Page with a bullet also to secure 2nd overall , but tied with Arg 1785, Cruz Gonazlez Smith & Mariano Heuser with super consistent 5,2,2,2 for the day. Sadly they couldn´t attend to Ireland on a tough peritonitis Mariano suffered in June, but now he is fully recovered as shown by their sailing today.

John Tomko & Jonathan Atwwood tied at 17pts for 4 & 5th overall with Larsen-van West, who got a spinnaker stuck while leading as captured by Jasper above.  The second ARG crew Juan Faustin- Nico Aragones 1pt behind them with 18pts total for a 6th ov and also a little bad luck on pitching in the last race when they were riding along Smith-Heuser in the top 3.

Interesting description on today's racing by Mike Easton as reported by Jasper in the F18 Web: "The boys from Argentina were on fire today. I’m guessing that the choppy conditions on the bay are similar to what they sail in at home in Buenos Aries, but they were able to get in a perfect rhythm with the waves and just pull away from just about everyone.”

The Arg Southern boys applying the lessons learned in our local muddy river conditions. Showing their skills at the also Southern State of Texas,  against 3 Pro crews in the top 5 (Easton, Casey & Larsen).
